about lineage
Raver is out to prove that you do not need a strong pedigree in order to make it in the world of racing. Her sire, Imitation Black, has only won three times and she is one of his first foals. Imitation Black won the Messenger Cup, the January Maiden Turf and the WannabeFamous Dirt Stakes. His other filly, Imitation's Love, out of Katerina's Love, will be taking the racing world on at the same time. Brave Angel made fourteen starts during her racing career and won the Maiden Turf Stable Face Off. The gray mare finished second in the Messenger Cup and is the dam to no other foals in this point in time. Brave Imitation will be going against the grain of her unsuccessful parents and with her personality she will surely come out on top.
personality
Raver is a pretty straight forward filly in ways that none of her other crop-mates are. For one she isn't blood thirsty, rough, clever or envious. She is simply Raver, the daughter of two very straight forward race horses. She only gets along with most everyone, unless you happen to be Ares, whom she strongly dislikes. The filly does not like being pushed around by any other horses and has a tendency to duck out when pinched in any circumstance. She loves to lick any human hands, whether they have treats or not, and really loves sugar cubes around the barn. She behaves like a normal horse rather than a hyped up focused athlete, something the staff at Witch Creek really appreciates. She is the cold water and the rest of her crop mates are kegs of gun powder. The filly never steps a toe out of line in the barn, in the paddock, post parade or race. Raver is a confident filly and handles most every situation with ease and is actually pretty darn level-headed. She spooks at nothing and it will make her a very good horse on big race days. Raver has a very sound mind and is a race horse that the crew can depend on in any situation. Her athleticism is pronounced and she is actually pretty darn powerful in back end and chest, built like a colt. Raver is gentle in the barn, but becomes extremely focused the further she gets on race day. The only time she ever pins her ears or makes an effort to be nasty is when she knows a race is coming up. She likes her space on these days and seems to brood in the stall. She'll stand for hours at the back of the stall, eyes focused and then will come out for the race all sorts of pumped up. She makes a show of herself in the post parade, prancing along and flexing her muscles. She is the one horse that Witch Creek has never had a problem with gate loading. She was simple to break to the gate and she never displays any fear. Once the gates open, Raver is off like a shot and all of her previous mellowness has just about flown out the window. She stalks nicely in third, almost always third and makes her move in the final turn. She is pretty push button and has a confident high cruising energy throughout the race. She doesn't back down from a fight and is much like Aprodite's Chant because she loves to grind it out. The one time she lets her true prima donna nature come about is in the winner's circle where she stands as pretty as a picture with the garland of flowers wrapped around her beautiful neck. The steady eddy always gets the gold.
